The 2024 Career Monitoring Survey begins on October 1st with the gathering of data. This year, the survey targets master’s graduates from 2019 and doctoral graduates from 2021.
Scientific information on employment and skills
The Aarresaari network of university career and employment services coordinates this annual study on the employment of master’s and doctoral graduates. The result is comprehensive information on the qualitative employment of academics and the alignment of university education with the skills needs of the labour market.
The information obtained from the survey is used in, among other things, the planning and development of education, guidance and counselling. The results of the master’s career monitoring survey also affect university funding. The survey has been conducted for twenty years and includes all universities in Finland except the National Defence University.
If you received an invitation to answer the survey, please respond!
If you graduated with a master’s degree five years ago or a doctorate three years ago, you will receive a request from your university to respond to the survey. So, keep an eye on your email, text messages, or mail!
The survey results provide a comprehensive picture of the employment situation of graduates from different universities. You can examine, for example, where professionals in your field are working, what kind of roles they are working in, what the salary levels are, and what skills are relevant in the field. You can use this information to support your career decisions.
Unique data on working life
Since 2004, nearly 100,000 graduates have responded to the career monitoring survey. The extensive data on the employment of university graduates is also freely available to researchers.
The results are published on the Vipunen.fi statistics service of the Finnish National Agency for Education. Universities also produce their own university-specific reports. Read more and see the results of the 2023 survey on the Aarresaari website.
